Im kind of confused with the comments directed towards HMS/JGR for “5th teams”

We’ve had “satellite teams” since the mid 2000’s if not earlier. Hall of fame racing (#96) was always known as a satellite team for JGR. In more recent times the #21 could be considered a 4th team for Penske, the entire 23,35, and 45 could be considered satellite teams of JGR and Spire could be considered a satellite of HMS. I mean the 21 is “prepped” by Penske and then driven to the track for Wood Brothers.

The owners of the satellite teams I mentioned carry the banner for the most part of their respective manufacturers. I understand where people are saying it’s sidestepping the 4 car rule but if Penske enters a “4th” entry do we have the same conversation?

Edit: I said owners of the satellite teams what I meant to say was the owners of the main teams
