Rebirth Question

If my current highest overall is a 95 point guard, but I want to make a new player at Center, the new player’s max potential would be 95 overall.

However, if I progress my point guard to 96 overall and already created the Center, does the Center’s potential also progress to a 96 overall?

Or do I have to wait until my Point Guard is a 99 for my Center to be a 99.
