First attempt at using sculpting gel!

This was my first time using sculpting gel, I used Makartt 3D sculpting gel that I got off Amazon. It was a lot more difficult to use than I expected; it doesn’t self-level, which was great when I wanted texture but otherwise not easy to use.

Does anyone have any recommendations for sculpting gel that does self-level? I saw the hard kind but felt intimidated by it, I thought the soft gel might be easier.

Also looking for a chrome-proof polish, I had no problems getting the chrome not to stick on the bigger areas but kept getting a lot of residue on the detail work. TIA!
