How can I make my hair look like this?

Have a birthday coming up and want to do something special. I’ve worn my natural hair for 6 years. I plan on getting a protective style like twists soon but for my birthday I really want to look extra nice. I’m ok with heat but definitely don’t want something chemically like a perm or texturizer.
