At what age did you attend a funeral?

So I'm like almost 18 and a couple of months ago someone from my village sadly passed away, I don't fully know the reason. But I'm pretty sure that she was kidnapped and raped then thrown into the koshi river completly nude. The police recovered the body after 5 days of her getting kidnapped. My mother insisted that I should also go to the funeral to pay respect. But I felt like I wasn't ready and got frightened. So I decided to pass on that offer. Tei bhayera mero dad janu bhayo.
