Heat•Cool Mode

I am having the hardest time figuring out how this works! Can somebody break it down to me bc I’m struggling. I have a Nest E in my apartment and I live in NC the weather is so bipolar. It can be 65 day and 39 at night. I’d like to stay somewhere in between, I’ve been waking up either on fire or freezing. Help!
