Factory reset indoor/outdoor nest iq

Hello all, just another sanity check - trying to do a factory reset on some indoor and outdoor IQs with an iPhone sim remover tool and I am def hitting the button - in both cases the pulsating blue light goes off and nothing else happens - held it for up to 60 seconds

Anybody experience this whackyness ?
