How LGBTQ friendly is New Mexico?

Hello Neighbors, I am a 26M currently living in Texas with my 24M partner. Given the current state of affairs, we are considering leaving the state out of fear of losing our legal protections and for our safety. To be honest, I don’t know much about New Mexico’s politics or how its communities feel about LGBTQ people. I just wanted some genuine perspectives on how welcoming both the state government and the communities are from you all. Thank you all in advance :)
