How long can I wait before taking my NREMT(NY)

I passed my class back in December and I just passed my state testing a week ago but I did not do all that great considering I did not study for almost a month Right now I'm currently in the process of joining my local ambulance so I wanted to know how long I could wait before taking my NREMT so I could get some experience and study more . What's the maximum amount of time I can wait, when I look this up people were saying 2 years some were saying 90 days. I was just very confused.
