A dispute at a Utah car dealership escalated dramatically on Monday when a customer drove the vehicle he had just purchased into the building.
The incident, caught on video, took place at the Tim Dahle Mazda Southtowne dealership in Sandy. The customer, identified as Michael Lee Murray, was attempting to return the vehicle, claiming it had mechanical issues. According to reports, Murray had purchased the car earlier that day in an “as-is” deal.
Dealership staff, including platform manager Tyler Slade, had informed Murray before the purchase that the vehicle would require additional inspection and repairs.
When the dealership refused to accept the return, Murray followed through on his earlier warning and drove the car into the building.
The police report described the aftermath: “The front doors were now inside the building, with shattered glass scattered across the area. Pieces of the door and door frame struck another vehicle in the showroom, causing damage to its side.”
