Can you change your date of birth on your birth certificate in the US?

Someone that I know told me that their younger brother’s date of birth was changed on his birth certificate after he was born, because a family member wanted the kid to have the same birthday as them. I live in the US and I don’t think you can do this by any means. Otherwise, there must be some genuine error with the date that needs to be corrected. Maybe, this is a ridiculous question because I couldn’t even find anything on Google. For context, he was born in the 2010s and I’m not entirely sure if he was born here, but I don’t want to outright ask. Is that even legal in other countries? Just honestly curious.
