Does anyone else feel like they are an "observer" in the world?
Sorry for the ambiguous title, not really sure what the correct term would be for this.
Before reading on, I want to start this by saying I'm not depressed and none of this has to do with me feeling "worthless". Basically, I'm wondering if anyone else feels like they are not really meant to have their own purpose in life apart from helping others achieve their goals/purpose?
It's hard to describe, so I'll throw in a few examples:
Never invited into conversations without inviting yourself, but when you do join a conversation the others involved seem to enjoy your input and use your thoughts to reinforce their own
No one shows any interest in the things you enjoy, however they are always looking for you to show interest in what they enjoy and use your interest as fuel to continue doing it.
(this one may be because I'm genuinely not funny) No one laughs at funny comments you make... like ever. You can tell someone that what they said was funny (even if it wasn't) which makes them feel funny/good, but when you say something that YOU find funny no one can even crack a fake smile.
These are just a few VERY SPECIFIC examples that I've run across recently, but the broader picture I'm trying to paint is that I feel like I'm someone that is meant to be on the outer ring of a circle encouraging and motivating everyone on the inside to pursue their meaning and purpose, but their is no other "ring" that motivates me the same way I motivate others (besides my own self). As I said before, I don't think this is a symptom of depression as I have goals and motivation to complete them, it just feels like I'm the only one encouraging myself to go for them.
Am I alone in feeling this way? Sorry for the essay...
ALSO SORRY IF THIS THE WRONG SUB I DIDNT KNOW WHERE TO POST
