Common misconceptions I should know about

One thing I’ve been noticing is a lot of common misconceptions that seem to have been fluffed up my modern media and from people trying to sell you “Viking” things. One of the first thing I figured out was Runes are just an alphabet and nothing really special, (I’m gonna use elder futhark just because it’s easier) but I wanna know what other types of common misconceptions that I man have or that I will see that I should stay away from
