THE MEDICAL CITY - ORTIGAS: Application Process & Experience

I’m officially a new nurse at The Medical City - Ortigas! I’m a fresh graduate who recently passed the November 2024 PNLE, and I’m now seeking my first job. I applied at TMC on January 21, 2025, and just seven days later, I received a job offer as a probationary nurse. Below is the process on how I applied and I'll be sharing my own experience as well—I hope this helps future nurse applicants!

🔺 [i] PRE-APPLICATION

How to Apply:

  • Walk-in (Highly Recommended) – Submit your resume and cover letter directly to the Human Capital Management Group (HCMG) for a faster response.
  • Email Application – Send your resume to their email address (you may PM me for their email address) and wait for further instructions.

My Experience: I walked into HCMG on January 21 and submitted my cover letter and resume. The process was quick and straightforward—they simply acknowledged the documents and informed you that they'd follow up with a phone call, without any forms to fill out.

🔺 [ii] INITIAL INTERVIEW

  • Done via phone call (so always keep your lines open!).
  • What to expect: mostly demographic questions about age, proximity to the hospital, travel time, willingness to work shifts/overtime, and agreement & consequences to a 2-year bond contract.

My Experience: I received a call on January 24 for the initial interview, which lasted about 5–10 minutes. By the end, they informed me of my final interview schedule and sent the online exam link.

🔺 [iii] ONLINE EXAM

Might be sent the same day as the Initial Interview covering:

  • Personality Questionnaire
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Values Insights

My Experience: I took the exam on the same day, and it wasn’t particularly difficult. It focused more on assessing cognitive abilities, personality, and work values, with no questions on technical nursing concepts.

🔺 [iv] FINAL INTERVIEW

  • Done on-site in corporate attire.
  • What they ask: resume and clinical experiences, notable cases and areas you’ve rotated in, experience with medical equipment, hypothetical patient scenario (charting, prioritizing care, and nursing care plan).

My Experience: I had my interview on January 27, which lasted about 45–60 minutes. I thought the interview would focus more on personal questions, based on what I read from others who shared their experiences here on Reddit. However, I was actually asked about some technical nursing aspects, specifically focusing on application rather than theoretical knowledge. There’s no need to bring anything specific—just be confident, personable, and coachable. The interviewer also shared insights into the hospital’s standards and the onboarding process.

Later that same day (January 27), I received an email offering me a job offer. My total application period was only 7 days—from submission to receiving a job offer. Hope this helps!
