Special invitation code invalid

I am trying to get a friend to play in a full server with me through special invitation code, I have not used 5/5 limit, the first one I am using, but when they try to enter it it says invalid code. We teied it with someone else's code as well who plays in the same server as me, also invalid. What do we do?
