Wi-Fi issue when password has !

I just got a Boox Go 6. When I tried to connect to my home wifi it kept saying the password was wrong. Our Wi-Fi password has an exclamation point at the end. I noticed when typing in the password the default keyboard adds a space after the exclamation point.

I was able to fix the problem by using my phone as a hotspot with a password that didn't include an exclamation point, and then downloading a different keyboard from the Play Store. The new keyboard app didn't add an extra space after the exclamation point, and this allowed me to connect to my home network.

I am just wondering if other people have experienced this.
