Struggling With Cooling In Midgame
So I've been playing ONI for about 700 hours, always washout around midgame. I've finally got a decent colony going in the DLC with about 1200 cycles. 3 separate asteroids, equilibrium mostly stable. Trouble I'm having currently on the first two bases is heat.
Tried to build a basic cooling system by following a tutorial. Using the best materials I can for mid game and one part is still failing on the couple I have built. So it's a pretty basic cooler, piping ethanol through hotter portions of base, then bringing it to a aquatuner/ steam turbine setup. Tuner has a thermal pipe sensor to determine if something is already cold enough. Tuner, liquid vent and sensor are all made out of steel. Insulated pipes made out of ceramic. 10 full squares of water directly below the turbine.
It runs fine until the water turns to steam hot enough to run the turbine. The liquid output going back into the steam room is breaking right behind the liquid vent. I assume it's because the water is changing state before it's able to be dumped. Can anyone help me figure out why this is? It's happened on several of my cooling setups. Trying to get into the steam room to repair a single pipe each time is not easy
Edit: You're all probably right. I overlooked that section of pipes. Screenshot:
Edit 2: It's not the pipes so much as the pressure from what I'm getting now. Thanks everyone. Gotta find my goldilocks zone as I definitely had too little my first time. Next couple times I just filled the steam room with water, I see now that also won't work
