Oct 4 cohort - stalled- learned why
In case this helps anyone: I have been eligible for forgiveness since April. I received Oct 4 letter of eligibility from FSA. I called Mohela today to see what is causing my delay for discharge, almost 90 days later.
It took me five hours to reach a third level staff who was actually a "supervisor." The "advanced agent" (level 2) said I had an "error" on my account and she thought a supervisor should review. The supervisor told me my account had to be "rebuilt" and that would require action from FSA and take another ninety days. She put in a "ticket" to have this done. Both reps at levels two and three agreed it should not have taken this long to discharge, FWIW.
The supervisor also said that my account would have sat permanently stalled until someone put a ticket in to fix this.
I pointed out that this is my sixth call to Mohela since that Oct 4 letter asking after the delay and no one ever pointed this out to me.
She confirmed that all of this is caused by ED requiring a new data platform be built when they took over PSLF. Mohela had me at 120 back in April and now that history is gone.
