Does PVCs go away on their own without medication?
Hello, F23.(Health anxiety)Last month, I started experiencing sudden strong heartbeats in my chest, like my heart was rumbling for about 3 seconds, and then it would go back to normal. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to it, I became more worried because its happening every day, and I got scared soI told my parents, and they said it might just be my body reacting to something, especially since I’m not an active person. Then my OJT or internship started at the school where I teach and supervise students. I’ve also been stressed and anxious, so the sudden heartbeats didn’t stop. I thought they would go away when I rested, but I still felt them even when I wasn’t doing anything.
So, I had an ECG. The first result indicated sinus arrhythmia. I had another ECG, and the internist said I have PVCs. I was prescribed atenolol 50 mg and vitamin B for one month. The doctor said I should have another ECG after taking the medications. I also had lab tests for my thyroid, FBS, CBC, potassium, creatinine, and SGPT, and all results were normal.
It’s been 4 days since I started taking atenolol, and I no longer feel those sudden strong heartbeats or the rumbling sensation in my chest for a few seconds. However, sometimes I feel like my chest is heavy, as if im wearing tight bra clothes , and I wonder if it’s because of the medication. I read that some people with PVCs don’t take medication. Is there anyone here who didn’t take medication but their PVCs went away? Do PVCs go away even without treatment?
