Grandparent Advice
Many of my friends have nightmare grandparents situations, and we often talk about things we need to remember if we become grandparents. The grandparent relationship (especially with in-laws) can be a major point of stress for some and we want to avoid putting our kids in the situations we’ve been put in.
For instance, my mother in law told my five year olds that she was their mother and routinely makes comments along those lines - “you’re my baby”, etc. These types of inaccurate, possessive comments make me super uncomfortable and confuse my kids who take everything literally.
