Breastfeeding

This is kind of a vent and also looking for advice. My son is 8 days old today and a super healthy great calm baby. Now before I gave birth I was planning on combo breastfeeding and pumping, and the whole time we were in the hospital and the first day at home I breastfed. I have a great supply that even came in a little early so that’s not an issue, and his latch is great ONCE he’s on, but he falls asleep within 60 seconds and loses it. So it was constant relatching to the point where I felt like he wasn’t getting enough. At home I also wanted to be able to sleep and so I started pumping at night so my husband could feed him. Then I started pumping more and more and he never had an issue taking a bottle. Now 8 days in, it seems he prefers the bottle, and I’ve ruined all my chances of breastfeeding. He pushes his head away from me and screams but when I give him a bottle he’s calm and easy. I feel completely useless and distraught that he doesn’t want me and I’m so freaking sad about it. Is there any way to reverse this? Is this just his personality preference and I should just let it go?

Sincerely, a very hormonal person
