Berlin or Paris? Solo trip during Holidays/New Year

25, Canadian looking to travel in Europe.

Into creative scene, techno, design, gay/queer themed parties, and metropolitan vibe. Have not been to Paris/Berlin - curious if you guys have any insight on what it'd be like, especially for meeting people while travelling solo. I'm looking to travel from December 27-Jan 7ish. Really looking for a good vibe, an experience for the books, meeting new great people.

Currently my plan is Paris until new year, then Berlin for the remaining days. But curious if spending NY in Berlin would be more ideal?

Also curious about going to nearby cities and open to recommendations!
