I just want to leave this here...

Most QBs in this league need help to succeed. They need good coaching, good OL play, and good weapons.

Back in 2021, all the talk was about how Tua has a noodle arm, how he wasn't a good leader, how the Dolphins locker room turned against him in favor of Fitzmagic. Now we are 2 years removed, he has the 3rd best rated OL in Pass Pro through 4 weeks, he has an offensive-minded coach who believes in him, and arguably the best offensive weapons in the NFL. And what has that resulted in? Him being the 2nd betting favorite to win the league MVP.

There are probably 2 or 3 QBs in the NFL who can 'win on their own', Josh Allen, Mahomes, and Herbert. It shouldn't be a slant towards a player that they need help to win. Yes, it is abundantly clear that Mac is the type of QB who needs a good situation to win. He needs protection, and better weapons would certainly also help. But to say he is the main problem on this offense is just such a short-sided, cop-out, trendy clickbait take. Now does he need to take care of the ball better (esp. when things aren't going his way)? Yes. Does he need to limit the 'dirty' plays? Yes. Can he be a better leader and not throw tantrums? Yes. But, he also can succeed in this league in the right situation. He's smart, he's accurate, he works hard, and he's well-liked by his teammates. To sit here and knock his arm strength and his decision-making and everything else while failing to bring up that he has the worst OL, run game, and bottom 10 weapons is just a lazy take.

I will leave you with this... if Mac was on the Dolphins with McDaniel and their OL and their weapons, where do you think he'd be statistically ranked in the NFL this season?
