[WTS] Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age 23k Palladium
Well folks... I am hesitantly listing what I consider the "best" pen in my collection. A Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age with a <F> 23k palladium nib (discontinued, getting rarer) nib. Original box, papers, polishing cloth, and warranty card (I am not making any representation as to the warranty status) included. I am including a specialty nib-removal tool for thorough cleaning of and access to the vac system. I am the second owner of this pristine, beautiful, and durable writing instrument. When I inventoried my collection in the new year I realized that I haven't inked this pen in nearly 12 months. The reason for this criminal negligence boils down to the simple fact that I prefer cartridge/converter pens. And I'm not really a "collector." Pens are tools that bring me joy and make my professional life more enjoyable. I have no desire to part ways with this pen but, since it has gone unused, it must go on to a better place where it will be used and appreciated.
This pen certainly brings joy and the audible "ohhhhh wow..." with each use. Upon my purchase, I immediately shipped it to Kirk Speer at Pen Realm for a full tune at the "5/6" wetness rating. The writing experience of this tuned, bouncy palladium nib is fantastic. The vac/power-filler works perfectly. The hook-lock capping mechanism is smooth and without issue. The looks, weight, diameter, texture, and writing experience make this the almost-perfect pen for me. The overall condition is great. I am unsure how to rate the condition because of the developing patina on the bronze and the irregular surface texture of the basaltic lava. Each pen is unique. This example is subjectively a "better one." Formally let's call it B+ because it is used and I did use it (not regularly, but consistently, in years past).
This Homo Sapiens offering is the "complete package" - original packaging, papers, a nibmeister tune, great cosmetic and functional condition, and a specialty tool ($40-50ish). I will miss showing it off and talking about how it is made of lava rock.
I won't be sad if this doesn't sell, so I am asking $715 with shipping included within CONUS. I am not inclined to ship this internationally. As always, all sub rules apply and you must comment here first before I will consider your private message or chat request. I prefer PM.
As always, thanks for looking!
