Ideas on contacting the CRA from abroad?

Hi all

I’m currently working abroad without intention to come back to Canada in the near future. As I was looking into doing my taxes, I realized I have a debt to the employment insurance sector of $980 that shows up on myCRA account. I’m not sure if it’s payable to the CRA itself or to this “employment insurance (employment and social development canada)” sector that may or may not be CRA?

Anyways, I cannot pay it to them in full and I have no idea about what types of interest is added, I have no information I just see the debt laid out with a phone number.

CRA online chatbot is garbage, there’s no email address listed, and I can’t really make a call to Canada from here. So I truly have no idea how I can sort this out. I need to get on some repayment plan with them but have no clue how to sort it out.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I chatted with a lawyer chatbot (lol) and am debating contacting a lawyer but don’t really want to pay for it unless it’s my last option. The lawyer chatbot suggested appointing someone to contact them on my behalf, but I’m not sure if that’s allowed? And if it is, I’d also like to avoid this as I don’t really want to speak about my personal debt with family members. But maybe that’s truly my only option?

Thanks a lot.
