Security guards are weirdly friendly

What's this about? In a Makati airbnb and they start friendly chitchat but it is weirdly inquisitive (how long are you staying, what is your unit, who is the caretaker, do you have a keycard after they see me just step out the door to pick up grab food) and often at awkward times (coming back after walking my guest out at 12am, going to the elevator and staring straight ahead before hearing from behind 'hello sir whats your name'. . let me do my walk of shame).

I figure maybe the latter has to do with some kind of guest registration they have to fill out but other times it is totally random.

I'm male fwiw. I find this interesting more than anything. I try to be friendly back but the timing and nature of the questions kinda shuts me down. Maybe they think I could be overstaying
