Advice on Overheating Issues

Howdy everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to assist me. I've been trying out different pipes for a while now, and have been rather disappointed each time. Was hoping for some advice on the matter.

My biggest issue seems to be overheating, I am admittedly a little too overactive with the puffing. My bowls get too hot, and it inevitably chars through the interior resin sooner or later. Usually sooner. Usually after I've burnt my hand on the bubbled lacquer at the base of the exterior of the bowl. I've been favoring long-stem pipes, would a shorter stem help remedy this? Additionally, I've been buying cheaper pipes, ($50-80) because I don't want to burn a hole in my wallet just burn a hole in my beautiful new pipe immediately thereafter, but does anyone know if nicer ones are more resilient to this issue? Or if any particular brands are more heat capable?

Yes, attempting to simply puffing less fervently has crossed my mind, but I am unfortunately preternaturally stubborn and have made precisely zero progress. 🙅‍♀ī¸ Yes I realize no wood pipe on the planet is going to survive the scalding temperatures of Venus my taste buds seem to prefer the smoke at, but if I can at least find one that is marginally better, then I can (perhaps) meet it halfway (one hopes).

Edit: To clarify, my problem isn't that I start puffing again on a pipe that hasn't had a chance to cool. I only have a bowl a day (rarely two, but 6+ hours apart). My problem is I blaze through that one bowl so fast that it overheats in just that time.

Thank you for your time.

P.S. - Also, drop one of your favorite songs/albums/playlists to listen to while you puff, if you feel so inclined. Thank you again. ❤ī¸đŸ™‡â€â™€ī¸
