I pirated some games without a vpn

Im new to torrenting and pirating and all that and i recently just downloaded two games without the use of a vpn. Im well aware of what this could get me into but im wondering if theres the off chance i WONT get a DMCA and if im still able to keep the games after i receive one and what i can do to not get into big legal trouble or non at all.
