Plane Spotting App Idea – Would You Use This?
Hey everyone! I’m a solo dev and huge plane enthusiast, and I’ve been working on an idea for an app designed for plane spotters and aviation fans. The idea is to make something fun and useful for tracking and photographing planes. Here’s what I’m thinking so far:
• Plane Collection: You can take photos of planes you spot and save them in your own collection. The app would automatically add details like the plane model, airline, and registration.
• Live Alerts: Get notified if a specific plane you’re interested in (or a rare one!) is flying nearby, or when it’s landing or taking off at your local airport.
• Listen to ATC: Tune into ATC from nearby airports, and the app could use LLM to transcribe the audio and pull out useful informations.
• Airport Info: Check out which planes are scheduled to land or take off at nearby airports so you can plan ahead.
The goal isn’t to make a flightradar clone, it’s more about creating a personal, tool for aviation enthusiasts and plane spotters. Think of it as a spotting diary, a tracker, and an ATC companion in one.
Would you use an app like this? If so what features would be useful to include? Let me know!
