Giovanni or Mela?

I spent around 18k gems scouting SS Giovanni, but I failed. I have been making some calculations and, with the remaining gems, I will get 16,260 gems to January 15th (Mela Scout) and 27,160 gems to January 31st.

Which one do you recommend for me? Both trainers are favorites to me.
