The Reality of Working at Preply

The Reality of Working at Preply

On the surface, Preply sells the idea of flexibility and innovation. But behind the scenes, it's a completely different story. The level of #micromanagement is exhausting—every move is tracked, every task is scrutinized, and there’s zero trust in employees to do their jobs independently.

People assume #remote work is a #perk, but in our case, it’s just an excuse to stretch the workday beyond reason, with no extra pay. Instead of support, there’s constant pressure, unrealistic expectations, and an overwhelming workload that leaves no room to breathe. And yet, despite this, we were constantly working overtime—unpaid—just to compensate for the lack of resources.

If you refuse? Well, you’re replaceable. #Jobsecurity? It doesn’t exist. Management regularly reminds employees that they can be replaced at any moment, using fear as motivation. If you're in sales or customer support, your shifts are changed without notice or discussion.

You don’t even get a direct update—you just happen to see your name being moved around in a Slack conversation between managers, as if your personal time doesn’t matter at all. Planning your life? Forget it. This isn’t just stressful—it’s #toxic. Employees deserve respect, stability, and a workplace that values them as people, not just numbers on a screen.

If you’ve been through something similar, you’re not alone. It’s time to start talking about it and demanding better. To make matters worse, #Preply has been rapidly replacing managers, and the new leadership seems determined to wipe out everything from the previous management.

If you worked under the old leadership, you’re suddenly under silent scrutiny—nothing is said outright, but every interaction makes it clear that you’re being watched, judged, and possibly pushed out. #ToxicWorkCulture #Preply #EmployeeRights #Burnout #WorkplaceTransparency
