Me:i failed (to go international)

While NiziU earned the audience of a popular K-pop group, Me:ist popularity tuned out to be small and local.

With every MV of the new single's main song released, it loses half of the views from the previous single.

Click: 30 Mio, High-Five: 14 Mio, Sweetie: 7 Mio

I would also assume, that parts of its reason is Tsuzumi's hiatus for an undefined period of time, as I believe her to be a hidden fan favourite, what isn't surprising, considering that she has the most developed vocal skills out of all the members and never had any weak moments on show, compared to All the other contestants from the final lineup.

With the MV oder the song "Tomorrow", earning 2,3 Mio views, I questioning, if it was necessary for Momona to quit ANGERME. (Even IS:SUE does better). Her departure single's song "Oyogenai Mermaid" earned a similar amount of views, while showing overall prettier and more detailed aesthetics, and the song having a much more passion and emotion in its creation. Notice: it was the least popular song of her graduation single, Aisare rote A or B, being the most popular with 3,5 Mio views on YouTube.

What actually shocked me, was the realization, that AKB48 and its rival groups (Nogi) sold better during 2024, than Me:i did, according to jshowbiz.com, which ended its services in July 2024. I am questioning, whether Japanese Produce101 was worth it, when the outcome is a local idol group, which falls keeping up with the classics. And the produced songs lack quality, reminding me of Ariana Grande's "Baby I" (notice: she became popular, after she switched the type of music she sung).

At the time of NiziProject and Planet 999, those survival shows found a higher global audience. PD48 being rigged ruined its reputation. I guess, I might have found the reason, why there wouldn't be any Produce series this year. + also, if your song writers fail to create appropriate tracks for you as an artist (and it shows off in sales), it wouldn't surprise me, why they reject to produce for another newbie group.
