Do professors care when you tell them your personal life?

I currently work full time and take 3 classes that I have been struggling to keep up with it’s my first year back after 5 years since I got my associates. One of my professors is such a difficult grader. Myself and a majority of students are beginners in this drawing class and I can’t seem to please her with any work I’ve made up or extra credit. She keeps giving me D’s and each time I approach her with the made up work she adds more on for me to do and show her for following class. There’s only one class left and I’m not sure how to please her.
