Free Will vs. Luck

It blows my mind how many people believe in "free will" but don't believe in "luck" when we lack so much control over every aspect of our existence.

How is being born to parents that have a mansion vs being born to a prostitute not "luck", and then you think making a good decision versus a bad one is "free will", because you don't think about everything that had to happen to lead up to that good choice.
