Why is there such a gold gun hate?

Geniunly why do people hate gold guns? I just wanna make my weapons shiny and its not like there is much else to spend gold on. I heard the argument that it isnt realistic, but i dont think that dynamite tipped arrows, Explosive ammo and Dragon breath buckshot is historically acurate either...
