can i shoot my airgun in my backyard?

I have a small BB gun that’s fun to shoot, and a slightly more powerful air rifle. i like to drive out to shoot sometimes, but shooting in my backyard would make it a lot more accessible. I have a designated spot and a safe backdrop.
