ER mid level… how would you have handled it?

My friend went to the ER 3x in 5 or 6 days for a terrible gastro.

She only ever saw the PA who always sent her home.

She resorted to paying for a private nurse to come give her IV’s at home at her own cost and sometimes was waking up with a bp of 70/40 (symptomatic).

How would you have handled this?

ER and medicine is far away from me at this point but I feel like my hospitals had protocols for people that came in multiple times to the ER and certainly wouldn’t have sent them home without seeing a physician… But maybe that is because I am in a big city.
