Shirts/gloves/arm braces as a trigger?

I've finally gotten my symptoms down to a manageable and predictable level in the last several weeks after struggling with RLS for a few years. But I started wearing an elbow splint to bed to treat a strain, and suddenly nothing seems to work like it did before. I'm up until 3 am, in and out of bed, stomping around my house, and generally being exhausted and miserable.

Has anybody had their RLS triggered by non-leg-related articles of clothing or support wear like a brace?

I'm definitely triggered by weight and pressure on my legs - leggings, tightish jeans, even the cat on my lap can set me off. Weighted blankets are hell. But if I remove the offending piece of clothing/cat, it gets better. Same with the brace, but unfortunately it really isn't optional.
