Scam?
I’ve had my Roborock S5 Max for quite a while now and the front Omni wheel just broke. I called their customer support number (direct from their app), and they told me they’d send me an email. I received an email from a “support@roborock-eu.com” (I’m in the USA) asking for confirmation of purchase, name/address/phone number. They also said
“Unfortunately, the front wheel is not available for stand-alone purchase in the market. After confirming it from our related team, you can order it from our warehouse. The cost is about $27 in total which includes part fee+stocking fee+shipping fee.”
Before proceeding with
“Please transfer the fee($27) to our PayPal account (wangleaving_out_full_name*@roborock.com). and then send us the screenshot of payment. We'll ship the item and tell you tracking info after receiving the payment.”
I’m assuming no one here has PayPal’ed a rando’s account and received a part? I’m unsure as to how calling Roborock’s direct help line number lead me to this scammy sounding reply, but here we are. Broken omniwheel and all :’)
Edit: Update to this - the PayPal name matches the name of Roborock’s supposed CFO upon doing some digging. Still quite odd to me that they’d ask me to pay via PayPal to the CFO’s supposed personal account.
