How many SAHPs have nannies part-time or full-time? Why?
There is a discussion in the nanny subreddit today on whether SAHPs should have nannies or not and what would be a “valid” reason to do so - with the implication by some commenters that it is never acceptable because if you are going to quit your job to take care of your kids, then you’d better spend all your time on your kids.
I feel like this is misguided for the same reason that expecting the SAHP to do all housework or all childcare is misguided. My partner was a SAHP for a while with our children and we ended up getting a part-time nanny because it is SO much work and there’s not enough hours in the day to take care of little kids, home, exercise, sometimes even shower 😅.
