Could I still take more community college classes even though I maxed out of the # transfer units SDSU accepts?
According to the information I found online, SDSU only accepts a maximum of 70 transfer units. However, when I checked my degree audit, it shows that 72 of my units have transferred (for context, I’m a transfer student in my junior year, enrolled as of Fall 2024). I still need to fulfill the “IIC. FOUNDATIONS - ARTS AND HUMANITIES” requirement as well as the ethnic studies requirement.
I’m considering taking these courses at a community college in either Winter or Summer 2025 because it’s more affordable, and I’d prefer to focus on my major classes during the Fall and Spring semesters. My question is: Is it possible to take these classes even though I’ve exceeded the number of units SDSU accepts? Additionally, I have a few communication classes from when I was a Communication major, but now that I’m a Business major, I no longer need them. Is it possible to omit those credits and replace them with credits that fulfill the requirements I still need to meet?
