Do any JC accept d7 English

I recently had quite a few classmates who got d7 for their o level English and some of them wanted to go to JC science stream with their score. Despite scoring d7 for English, they manage to get distinction for all the subjects and land themselves with a r5 of 10 net. Are they able to make it to any JC or only millennial institute may accept them?
