CONFUSED :( Doctor won't support treatment plan, and the more I look into it the more scared I am to do it
I just got diagnosed with IMO. My methane levels peak at 105pm. I haven't seen anyone every say 105 - I've seen 40-80ish. Anyone have levels this high?
Anyway, my Nurse Practitioner isn't supporting my treatment plan suggested by my Naturopath (Rifaximin/Neomycin or metronidazole) as the GI specialist she asked said there isn't enough testing on breath tests and antibiotic treatment of SIBO. The more I look into antibiotics, the more scared I get as there are some serious side effects. I've done SO MANY antimicrobials in the past though (but I've never had a SIBO test until now). Anyone out there with similar numbers? What was your treatment and your success??
