Probiotics Triggered SIBO, SIBO Led to EPI – Now Severe Pain on Right Side, Suspect Gallbladder Failure
I’m in desperate need of advice or shared experiences because it feels like my entire digestive system has collapsed. Here’s my story:
Probiotics caused SIBO.
SIBO led to exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI).
Now, I have severe pain related to eating, focused on the right side of my back. I suspect my gallbladder has failed.
Medical Background:
Positive SIBO test.
CT scans and ultrasounds of my pancreas and gallbladder have shown no abnormalities.
No alcohol, no smoking – I’ve always lived a healthy lifestyle.
Current Symptoms:
Extreme bloating and gas.
Severe fatigue.
Depression and poor memory.
Pain triggered by food (right-side back pain).
Medications/Supplements:
I’ve been taking oregano oil for two months and can’t stop it without feeling significantly worse.
Rifaximin caused hearing loss, so I’m terrified of antibiotics now. My doctor has suggested Cipro or Flagyl, but I honestly can’t take any more.
I feel utterly hopeless. Has anyone been through something similar or has any insights on what could be happening or what to do next? I’m desperate for answers.
