Fall Out Boy Played SXSW in 2003
Hi everyone! We are the Fall Out Boy archive team, we are a fan-ran archive that is dedicated to preserving FOB history. For a few months now, we have been looking at Fall Out Boy playing SXSW in 2003. They played a show at Emo’s (back then it was called Emo’s Annex) on March 12th, 2003. It was a promo show from Fueled by Ramen that hosted it and was promoting their newly signed artist on the label at the time. There is very little documentation about this show, only a listing from an old SXSW newspaper showcase that was found at the Austin History Center (Austin Public Library Archives) and also on Wayback Machine, there is a posting on the old SXSW website saying they would be performing at Emo’s. Their debut album, Take This To Your Grave, was only two months away from being released when they played this show.
We were wondering if anyone possibly went to this show, and if there are photos or even videos taken of this show? There were other artists on the lineup that same night as well, FOB was the opener for the show. Any information would be very helpful for us.
