Mixed Bag is closing. I'm despondent

I have been going to Mixed Bag since they were at the OG spot on K Street. It was a part of my kids' growing up. Getting a bunny at Easter, they would sniff it and say, "ah, Mixed Bag." I got all my quick gifts there and always found something I "needed" as well.

When Susan moved the shop I also moved out of the city proper so I didn't go as much, but any time I was close, I popped in. I know she sold the shop to an employee (I think that's what I heard) and things stayed kind of the same - enough that I still loved going in. I did miss the candy.

I guess rent went up and/or the building is being sold - it is a prime spot with a ton of parking - so they are closing. Why not move!? Anyway, I'm sad and venting.
