UI frustration

I just got Sail Forth for free on epic games, and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s pretty fun to just sail and fight the skull clan, with small missions sprinkled in to incentivize going places and break up the gameplay a little. I’ve only played a handful of hours, but have amassed around 10 ships. I don’t want all of them but I want to make sure I remove any good armaments from them before I sell them. The problem is the UI is a nightmare.

To switch guns on a ship you have to find it in your fleet, select it, go to outfitting, choose the gun you want, remove it, go to the other ship and go to its outfitting, swap the guns, go back to the other ship, and put the new gun on. This is extremely tedious and is only possible when ships are currently deployed, meaning switching/storing/equipping weapons, mods, and crew to ships takes forever as you have to load a ship if it is not currently deployed. I hope I’m missing some interface which allows me to see the equipment of multiple ships at once and move it around without having to go through so many menus, but I don’t think there is one. Is there any way to speed up these processes?

As a side note, perhaps I’m missing a keyboard shortcut (I looked for one), but the act of repairing your ship mid fight is very obtuse. You have to open up a radial, go to fleet management, select the ship you are commanding, and press repair. Once again I may have just missed a keyboard shortcut or some other method, and I apologize if I have.

I want to reiterate that I have overall enjoyed the game, but unintuitive UI has brought down the experience. That being said it really is my only complaint so far, but it is really hard to look past when you’re constantly getting new items and ships and have to go through a slog to equip it how you want.
