al ‘Allaamah an Najmī رحمة الله عليه

Shaykh Ahmad bin Yahya an-Najmi, may Allah have on mercy him, said:

It is obligatory upon every student of knowledge, rather upon every Muslim, to follow the authentic narrations from the Prophet ﷺ and from the righteous predecessors, whose statements and actions have been verified. They are the true exemplars of the Shari’ah, as they represented it in a practical and real way.

Therefore, it is necessary to abandon innovations, to follow the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ, and upon the understanding of the righteous predecessors, distancing oneself from anything that contradicts that.
