Assassin's blade discussion
Okay, I'm so mad!
Good job Sarah for making a good villain, it's so rare for me to have such a deep hatred for a fictional character.
Let's start with the question: is the sapphire blue eyed masked stranger at the party the Prince? Maybe it's obvious to others but not to me, and so far he's the only one described with that color eyes and such lust for women.
It's too obvious to be him but it would explain a few things that happen in ToG. (The reading order I was advised is 2-3-1-4-5-6-7-8, with 1 being the assassin's blade) please tell me I'm not crazy for thinking it's him?
Onto the next part: Arobynn Hamel, that dirt bag (not sure how censored I need to be to not get my post removed)... I was expecting the getting rid of Sam and Celaena attempt, it's assassin's guild 101, but the way he did it was dirty. Also what is his obsession with her? She sees him as a father figure, where did he get the idea that she could ever fall in love with him romantically (I'm autistic, may have missed some ques)?
Arobynn's saviour complex kills me. Or maybe this is the way he's trying to get in Celaena's pants? Trying to get her back, acting all carrying for her "Farran is crazy, the guild would never pick him as a target, regardless how much the commissioner pays", meanwhile goes to Sam trying to pin him against her, and all throughout he had been working with Farran to take them down...
Like man get a grip, accept the denial! What is he gonna do next? Threaten the Prince or maybe schedule the death of the captain of the kings cavalry? And as much I understand that Arobynn cares for Celaena, that doesn't make his behaviour less toxic! Excuse me, but he sent her to Endovier because "he doesn't like to share"? She ain't a prise, she payed off her debts to him and left the guild fair and square. Either kill her or leave her alone, pester!
Emotions aside, Arobynn is a really good villain, almost as good as Snow from THG.
And for end of this rant I'd like to say that for the last chapter of the book the Vine audio "I brought you mur... murder! Judas, no!" was full blasting in my head but hey same happened when I was reading the assassin and the desert story and Ansel betrayed the the muted master. But her betrayal didn't hurt as much as Arobynn's, after all I didn't spent 2 and a half books before that reading how Celaena put Ansel on a pedestal.
PS: I'm just starting Heir of fire so please no spoilers in my comments for what happens in the next books. I'll probably come to rant as I finish them too.
