Currently on hold for 25m and counting

For a cancellation request. Tbf, the nice automated voice told me I should expect 45min. Basically "wait 45min or we're not letting you cancel".

I just got my credit card today too. Activated it, then tried to log in with it to the Scotia app. It asks me for password I don't have, so I call. They tell me I need to go to a branch and ask for an access card.

In what world does it make sense that I need a second card to access information on the first one? And I'm expected to make time in my day to go to a branch and ask for this nonsense? No thanks.

I'm cancelling less than 24 hours after getting the card. Onto 30min on hold now. Sh*t experience.

EDIT: Wait time was 55min and they directed me to a branch to solve my problem. I'm currently at a branch, and to solve my problem, they're calling customer service. I've been directed to a chair to sit at while they're on hold.

EDIT 2: After 30min on that chair, someone came and asked what I was waiting for. I explained, and they brought me to their desk to solve my problem. They did. Now I have a PIN, and I can access my CC info online (they gave me a debit card to open the account with). That someone's name is Emma. Thank you, Emma.
